  What happened to Milton Henschel losing presidency?

  my family often spoke well of milton henschel.

  i left when knorr was still president.

  looking at the flimiest of personal infos for gb members, i noticed that henschel became president and then was demoted and don adams became president.

  Very good thread, and excellant points raised. Ironic thing about their lack of family experience, is how they print that Jesus and the annointed will be able to rule from the heavens more effectively because they'll have experienced what we deal with as humans on the earth. The GB, and plenty of Bethel and Branch heavyweights are so aloof to the responsibilities of and the emotional ties within families, that for them to state that they can relate to what the average JW is dealing is facetious at best.

  A message to all those out there suffering

  i know many of you think i'm an asshole, and that is fine, because more than likely i am.

  i do have a heart though...and i want to say something to all those out there right now suffering with doubts, feelings of guilt, and any other hard-ache brought on by this organizations failed policies (obviously not directed by god)...this is what i want to say to you:.

  if there is a god, trust me, he wants to see the end of this jehovah's witness organization just as much as you do (more)....the depth of mind control, brain washing, and profound control mechanisms inside this borg are insidious and destructive to any healthy human being.

  Do we have to avoid churches to avoid Babylon the Great?

  i have several friends who are concerned about getting baptized at a church, attending a church, taking advantage of their youth services, homeschool groups etc.... .

  i think that this is because they still believe the babylon the great doctrine and think that if a church or church leader has any teachings "wrong" then they are part of babylon the great... some thoughts:.

  using churches for certain services is not the same as belonging to them.

  You know I almost posted a thread this morning after getting settled at work, questioning if its possible that in the near future the WT will create receive new light on Babylon the Great. Their teaching that it's the world empire of false religion is one of the STUPIDEST teachings ever found in their printed literature. It's ridiculous to stick to their guns on this subject, especially when much of the criteria that they use to criticise other denominations, can also be used to criticise themselves. The old saying about one pointing the finger at someone while three fingers are aimed at themself holds true.

  What was life like for you as a JW teenager?

  in the wt's illistrations they portray jw teenagers as happy, together group.

  my experinace is that the jw teenagers in the cong were some of the bitchyist backstabbing arse holes i'll ever meet.. it was unheard of for us to engage in group "wholesome activity" as show in the wt's illistrations.

  the competition amongst the girls for the handsome, sane and elders sons were cut throat.

  Happy Are the Merciless

  recently the local kingdom hall had a local needs talk in which they expressed how too many people were listening to the meeting via the telephone connection.

  as a result, they've changed the code necessary to listen to the meeting.

  only qualified individuals (homebound, bedfast, etc) will be allowed to call in and listen to a meeting.

  Ahhhhhhhhh, The Friends, The friends...................

  There's an elderly woman in my field service group, who hasn't been in a Kingdom Hall for years. She's well into her 80's, diabetic, uses a walker to get around, lives in a high rise, etc.. Every month and a half, sometimes monthly, I drop in and give her the magazines, Kingdom Ministries, buy her lunch, do a little grocery shopping for her, etc.. She's capable of going to the meetings, but at eighty-something years old, she's got a legitimate excuse not to attend even by arrogant pious WT standards. Anyways, there's another older sister in this same high-rise, who occasionally approaches me at the meeting and asks if I've checked up on this other sister. What she's oblivious to, is that this sister doesn't want to be bothered. She's happy and content simply listening to the meeting on the phone. If this sister needs anything thats pressing, she'll call me with no shame in her game, and don't mind, matter fact I like it like that. The best part is she tells me not to mind this other sister asking me if I checked up on her. Matter fact she's expressed to me that this sister actually irritates her and that she purposely avoids her phone calls as she doesn't want to be bothered.

  Anyway, there's plenty of people who don't actually need the phone hook-up per say, but are taking advantage of it being available. The truth be told is, and I hope you Bethel monitors are reading this, but the truth be told is, not everybody wants to be bothered with The Friends but at the same time, some people do actually thirst for minimal social interaction which can be achieved through the phone hook-up during the meeting. Me personally, I've had my fair share of colds, the occasional flu, stomach bugs, whatever, and you know what? The times I stay home from the meeting, I don't feel as if I'm missing jack shit, although I hate being sick. Happy are the merciless.
